From

the Pastor

Life is about living for something bigger then yourself. After Pr. John Amaral's conversion in 1978, he and his wife Connie moved to Tyler, Texas to attend East Texas Bible College. After graduating he and his wife Connie, now with their first daughter Regina, moved back home to MA. There he began to preach the Gospel under a tent given to him by R.W. Shambock. Not long after that, Pr. John moved to Brazil with his wife and daughter in 1985. Knowing now that his mission was completed, Pr. Amaral, his wife Connie, daughter Regina and newly daughter Kristal-Lynn moved back to the US to oversee a Portuguese congregation, which is now New Destiny. Throughout the years many congregations throughout the world have joined New Destiny. Pr. John also is the founder of the International Christian Chaplains Association which has become a worldwide ministry. Throughout his years in ministry, Pr. John earned his PhD in Psychology, Philosophy and his Doctorate in Divinity. He is also involved in the Police, Fire, and Armed forces as their Chaplain. Throughout these years serving as an active Chaplain he has earned many Awards of Recognition. He is grateful for his church and the 33 years he has enjoyed the grace of God upon his life, his family, his grandchildren and the new one to come. He is grateful for the hand of God upon his life and for keeping him all of these years. He believes God still has much more to come his way. He thanks his wife of 38 years and his family, church family for always being there for him. This is why he believes that we all must take joy for the journey.
